Music has been my heart and soul since I was 7 years old. I began with piano lessons at that age and continued on, transferring to organ when I was 12 years old. I was fortunate to have private lessons throughout this time. I began playing the organ for Holy Trinity Catholic Church in 1959. I continued on to become the Music Director from 1997 to July of 2018. I was also the Organist for Severn United Methodist Church from 1981 to 2001. I have worked with volunteer adult choirs, children’s choirs, a small orchestra and a conductor,. I continue to play for Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home and Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services as needed. I am thrilled to be the Music Director at Glen Burnie United Methodist Church. I look forward to bringing some very exciting music to the Church and am anxious to move forward to the upcoming seasons with the wonderful choir here.
My passions also include figure skating; snow skiing; scuba diving and surfing. I was the Skating Director for Benfield Pines Ice Rink from April 2000 – 2007; and also for the Inner Harbor Ice Rink. I also taught skating at Bowie Ice Rink and Piney Orchard Ice Arena. I continue to take piano lessons at AA Community College along with several other classes. I have played the piano for various functions in the area, including the Kennedy Krieger Festival of Trees, Take Back Our Streets Christmas Party, Jefferson-Jackson Dinner, weddings, cocktail parties, and anniversary parties.
I was employed by the Federal Government for 40 years. I am currently a member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and was a Board member from 2009-2012.
